Early Childhood (Toddlers to TK)

Inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia approach, our Early Childhood program recognizes the limitless potential within every child and empowers them as active participants in their education.

Grades K-3

As the foundation of the CDS academic experience, our Lower School is a joyful learning community where students and educators flourish together in a place of wonder and exploration rooted in Jewish values.

Grades 4-5

Through the right balance of challenge and nurture at this critical development stage, CDS Intermediate School serves as the bridge between elementary education and the more advanced studies of our Middle School. 

Grades 6-8

CDS Middle School is a transformational journey of intellectual growth and self-discovery where students develop the knowledge and confidence to embrace their individuality and thrive in high school and beyond.

Our sprawling urban campus includes state-of-the-art science and technology labs, a collaborative library space, a performing arts stage, a gymnasium, art and music studios, modern playgrounds, a multi-purpose athletic field, an outdoor classroom, and Jewish-themed teaching gardens.

Community Day School has the unique advantage of close proximity to both Frick and Schenley city parks, providing our students with enriching opportunities for outdoor learning and recreational activities.

Nestled in the residential center of the iconic Squirrel Hill neighborhood, CDS is within walking distance to restaurants, boutiques, libraries, theaters, hospitals, universities, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, and many synagogues.

 

Convenient Access

Community Day School is located just off the Parkway East exit at Squirrel Hill, and free bus transportation from most districts makes our campus convenient from the East End, the Monroeville, Plum, McKeesport, Woodland Hills, and Fox Chapel areas, and beyond.
