CDS Lower School classrooms are grounded in the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching. With this philosophy at the core, our classrooms are safe, challenging, and joyful places for children to learn and thrive. 

Students in Intermediate School are taught to develop a “growth mindset,” where they learn that you can become smarter by trying hard things, failing forward, and then trying them again with another strategy. 

In Middle School at CDS, students finding joy in learning and in discovering their true selves by engaging through academics, Chugim (clubs), Tikkun Olam activities, and leadership opportunities.
