Each year at this time we have a personal responsibility, indeed, a sacred opportunity, to ask forgiveness directly from people we might have offended over the course of the year. As Head of School at Community Day School, I am certain that I have offended at least several among you by commission, by omission, knowingly and unknowingly. I will do my best to make my share of personal apologies and I hope you’ll indulge me in making a global one here (l’shem chinuch, for the sake of education). Please forgive me if I have wronged you in any way.
I also want to thank you. If you are among those reading this, you are a friend of the school in one capacity or another. If so, you know that our work at CDS is a labor of love, and our passion for the children in our care is what inspires us. Thank you for being in our school family.
May you be inscribed in the book of life and may you and your family be blessed with all the good things life can offer.
With a heart that aches for all those suffering from the acts of humans or the wrath of nature, my own wish for the world is that we find our way to an elusive but essential peace.
Wishing you a sweet new year at a time when that is sorely needed,
שָׁנָה טוֹבָה וּמְתוּקָה
G’mar Chatimah Tova!
