Camp Lion Summer Camp

Camp Lion 2026 registration is open! In addition to our own CDS Camp Lion, we're thrilled to partner with Camp Gan Izzy to offer a summer filled with friends, fun, and meaningful experiences, with both full-summer and weekly options available. Spots fill quickly, so don’t wait to secure your child’s place. Our summer care is open to the entire community!

We are excited to share details about Camp 2026, offering a fun and engaging summer experience!

Our summer care is open to the entire community.

For Toddlers–3: Care provided by CDS staff members, 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • Entire Summer: Camp Little Lion (June 8–August 27) - $3,800
  • Camp Little Lion by the week (June 8-August 27) - $350/week

Important Camp Information:

Camp Dates and Hours:

  • Camp Lion (campers turning 4 through 4th grade):

    • Weeks of June 8 – June 22 and August 10 – August 24

    • 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Camp Little Lion (campers 2-3):

    • Weeks of June 8 – August 24 

    • 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Camp Staff:
Camp Lion will be led by Sabrina LeClair and Max Crawford.  

Camp Little Lion will be led by Ben Grossman and Maddie Marinelli. 

All camp staff members are current CDS teachers and are certified in CPR and anaphylaxis response, ensuring your children are in capable and caring hands.

Junior Counselors:

Our Junior Counselors, entering grades 5–8, are an important part of the Camp Lion community. They will participate in activities alongside campers while also assisting staff members with setup, organization, and daily camp routines. Throughout the summer, Junior Counselors will take part in leadership training sessions with Meredith Brown to help build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Medical Information:
Please note that camp staff will only administer rescue medications if needed. We are unable to give daily or over-the-counter medications during camp.

  • If your child has an allergy or medical condition requiring rescue medication, please be sure to include this information on the required forms.
  • All medications must be clearly labeled and provided to camp staff on the first day of camp.

Required Forms:
All parents must complete the required forms for each child registered for camp. Forms are due by June 1.

Security:
Security will be present on campus daily and will be outdoors whenever campers are outside to help ensure a safe environment for all. If you have questions about summer security, please contact our Director of Security, Vaughn Peterson at Lpeterson@comday.org.

Schedules:
A typical camp day will include a mix of structured activities and free play, such as arts & crafts, outdoor play, water activities, games, and rest time for younger campers. Click below for the full summer schedule for Camp Lion and the first two weeks of Little Lion. Full weekly schedules will be shared every Friday in your Camp Peek at the Week. Anything specific you need to know for the upcoming week, including walking trips, water play, and more will be in your Camp Peek at the Week sent every Friday at 3 pm. 

Camp Logistics:

  • Locations - The home base for Camp Big Lion will be in the first grade classrooms located in the main CDS building on the first floor. The home base for Camp Little Lion will be the 3's Alef room ( located in the front of the Annex)
  • Arrival and Dismissal - Big Lion campers will be dropped off and picked up through the CDS carpool lane (located on Beechwood Blvd.). Little Lion Campers should be dropped off at the Beechwood Annex Entrance.
  • Food - Campers must bring a bagged lunch and a reusable water bottle every day. Snacks will be provided.
  • Attire - All campers should wear closed-toed shoes and bring a hat daily. Camp Little Lion campers should bring a change of clothes to keep in their cubbies. Cubbies will be assigned to each Little Lion camper and will be located outside of room 3 Alef.
  • Sunscreen - Please apply sunscreen to your children in the morning and send in labeled sunscreen for counselors to reapply in the afternoon.
  • Rest Time and Diapering (for Little Lions Only) - Please send in a labeled blanket and any rest time items for your child. They will be sent home at the end of each week. Please send in diapers and wipes clearly labeled with your child's name.
  • Phones/Smart Devices - Campers and Junior Counselors are not permitted to bring smart watches or phones. If they do, they will be collected by Camp Leadership and given back at the end of the day.
