Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in applying to Community Day School; our Admission Office is here to work with you every step of the way. Please follow the process below to help us get to know you and your family.

Step 1: Inquire

If you are interested in learning if CDS is the right fit for your child, please complete our online Inquiry Form and our Director of Enrollment Management will contact you within 24 hours.

Step 2: Exploratory Phone Call or Zoom Meeting

Talk with Director of Enrollment Management Sarah DeWitt, who will get to know your family, discuss our curriculum, explain a “day in the life of a CDS student," and answer your questions. Please schedule a personal phone call here or an individual Zoom meeting with Sarah here if you prefer a face-to-face conversation.

Step 3: Tour the CDS Campus

Visiting Community Day School is the best way to discover the dynamic community and academic vitality that make CDS a special place. After your exploratory meeting with Sarah DeWitt, we invite you to explore our beautiful campus and meet with our faculty, students, administrators, and families (all visitors on our campus must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination). If an in-person visit is not possible, please ask about virtual tour options.

Step 4: Submit an Application

Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year are now being accepted. Click here to apply online.

Step 5: Visit Day

Applicants are invited to visit CDS to help our faculty get to know your child. Applicants to our Kindergarten participate in a school visit in January in our classrooms, which enables our teachers to observe how each child interacts in a group setting and provides insights about a young child's readiness to attend Community Day School. Applicants in Grades 1-7 spend a full day at the school with their grade level participating in regularly scheduled activities.

Step 6: Welcome to CDS!

CDS sends acceptance notifications in February, and enrollment contracts and deposits are due in early March.
