Applicants to Kindergarten:

A recommendation form from the student's current teacher must be submitted as part of the application. The recommendation form is sent electronically to the teacher and returned to the Admissions Office directly from the teacher via email by January 15.  Kindergarten applicants will participate in a Kindergarten Visit. Information and details will be provide to families upon completion of an application.

Applicants to Grades 1-8:

All students applying must submit a Transcript Request Release Form to your child’s current school giving the school permission to forward records to CDS.

For students applying to Grades 1-5, one recommendation form from the student's current classroom teacher must be submitted as part of the application. For students applying to Middle School, two recommendation forms (Language Arts and Math) are required for applicants. These recommendation forms are sent electronically to the teacher(s) and returned to CDS directly from the teacher(s) via email.

Typically, applicants to Grades 1-7 are asked to spend a day on campus as part of the application process. They attend class with a buddy in the current grade level and participate in a student interview. The decision about whether these visits will happen in-person or virtually will be shared with families later this year.
