Lunch Program

Community Day School is proud to offer a lunch plan that is home-cooked, healthy, kosher, and prepared just for your child. In cooperation with Giant Eagle Corporation, we work closely with a team of professional registered dieticians from the University of Pittsburgh to develop our menu selections. To help reduce fat and sodium, we use options such as baked foods rather than fried, skim-milk mozzarella cheese blends and 1% milk, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

New menu options this year include vegetarian chili and spaghetti and veggie "meatballs. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 have the opportunity to select menu options in advance during our twice-per-year signup for the lunch program. For students in our Early Childhood Program, a hot, kosher lunch is included with tuition, and children eat family-style in their clasroom.

On the first day of kindergarten, I couldn't have imagined all of the opportunities and experiences that awaited my son that would help to shape him, thus helping to shape our family. I don't think words can express our gratitude and appreciation for CDS and everything that has made it what it is today.
